They played The White Elephant Game where They'd draw your name and you'd get a gift. If you liked what someone else got you can trade with them. Some of the gifts were pretty funny.

oh oh *jumps up and down*...going to drop some knowledge on you! So the white elephant gift started in Thailand! Here white elephants are sacred and so they couldn't be used for work of any type. Also the king declared that any white elephant born in Thailand was his. So even though it was a sacred thing to have a white elephant...people had no choice to feed it and care for it but could never use it-per order of the king (and raising an elephant on your very poor wages is a burden). So it ended up being a bad thing to get one! Hence the white elephant gifts----something that no one will really use but you give it to them anyway!!!! There don't you feel smarter now! hehehehe
